General Rules

 
1.    All classes, except Class 19, 20 and 28, are open to any person with at least 2 months membership.
 
2.    Competitors may only enter one exhibit, as per schedule, in each class.
 
3.    Points are awarded for 1st - 4 points, 2nd - 3 points, 3rd - 2 points.
 
4.    No points will be awarded for Classes 27, 28, 31. 35, 36 & 37.
 
5.    Society Cup:    In the event of a tie, the winner will be the exhibitor with the most first prizes
       in point-scoring classes.
 
6.    Beginner Classes:   These classes are for exhibitors who have not won a first prize in a
       fuchsia class, at any previous show.
 
7.    Pot sizes are in inches or metric equivalent.   Exhibitors must use standard size
       terracotta-coloured pots.
 
8.    Exhibitors entering Class 27 must be aged 60 or over.
 
9.    Full and Half Baskets must be spherical in shape.  Standard wire baskets and flat-bottomed baskets
       are acceptable.
 
10.   For the purpose of this show, "Bush" defines "Shrub" as "Bush".
 
11.   Entry forms must be handed to the Show Secretary or a Committee member by the Thursday
       prior to the show and no later than 8.00pm.
 
12.   Exhibits may be staged on Friday from from 4.30pm until 9.00pm and on Saturday
        from 7.30am until 9.30am.   Plants left overnight are at exhibitor's risk.
 
13.   Prize-giving will commence at 4.30pm on Saturday.   Exhibits must remain staged
        until after the prize-giving.
 
14.   Once exhibits have been placed they must only be moved by a Show Steward.
 
15.   The Committee reserve the right to remove exhibits which are diseased and / or pest infested.
 
16.   In the event of a dispute the Committee will be the sole arbitors.
 
17.   The Judge may withhold an award if the material shown is not meritorious.
 
18.   Variagated foliage must have leaf tissue (foliage) of two or more colours.   Buds and flowers
        may be left on plants.
 
19.   Triphylla class plants must be terminal flowering and may have open flowers as well as
        buds.   Plants must be on the BFS Triphylla List.
 
20.   Points awarded for Classes 19 and 20 will not count towards 'Most Points in Show'.
 
21.   Exhibits must be displayed in the pot sizes as shown in the schedule.
